Important Update About NFTs

Starting January 30, 2026, IMVU will be removing the blockchain component from NFTs and rebranding all existing NFTs as Limited Edition (LE) products. With this change, these items will no longer exist on the blockchain and will instead be fully supported as Limited Edition digital products within the IMVU platform, retaining their exclusivity and in-platform value while aligning with our current product ecosystem.

How can I protect myself from scams?

LE products are easy to distinguish from regular items. LE products will be in the Limited Edition (LE) category in the Shop, marked with the special gold LE badge, priced in VCOIN, and will include a confirmation screen before purchase that verifies the item is an LE product.

LE products that you buy will remain in your inventory until you resell them. Make sure you look for the gold LE badge in the item photo and the checkout process to ensure that the item you are buying is a LE product.

Why is two-factor authentication required?

We value your security and want to ensure the highest quality of protection for your IMVU account and LE products. Therefore, two-factor authentication (2FA) is required for any transactions involving VCOIN.

To protect your LE item, you will not be able to turn off 2FA unless you’ve sold all your LE products. Learn how to set up 2FA here.

Will users under 18 years old be able to use Limited Edition (LE) products?

All users who can purchase VCOIN can purchase, resell, and create LE products on IMVU with VCOIN. There may be some restrictions on countries and US states where VCOIN can be purchased or withdrawn (see full list here). Currently, anyone under 18 years old cannot withdraw VCOIN off platform until they are of legal age.

However, all users can send VCOIN to others, receive VCOIN from others, or convert VCOIN to Credits. VCOIN earned through Gigs or gifted by friends can be used to purchase LE products.

What happens to my Limited Edition (LE) product if my account is hacked?

In the event that your IMVU account is hacked, we will follow the standard IMVU account recovery procedures.

In the event that your wallet is hacked and your LE products are removed, we will also conduct a thorough investigation, where we may be able to revoke the use or sale of the LE products.

What happens to my Limited Edition (LE) product if my IMVU account is suspended, disabled, or deleted?

If your IMVU account is suspended, disabled, or deleted, your LE product will be delisted from the Shop.

Suspended Accounts

Accounts may be temporarily suspended due to situations such as payment issues or suspicious activity. LE products on suspended accounts may be recovered once the issue with the account or suspension is resolved.

Disabled Accounts

Any violation of our terms of service will result in permanent disablement. Because of that, any LE products associated with the permanently disabled account will not be recoverable. If you believe the disablement was a mistake, you can contact customer support for further assistance.

Deleted Accounts

Deleting your account permanently deletes all personal data associated with your account, which includes LE products. You will not be able to regain access to your account once it has been completely deleted. You will have a few days to contact the customer support team if you change your mind, but there’s no guarantee that your account will be recoverable. In other words, think twice before deleting your account!

What if a Limited Edition (LE) product or transaction violates IMVU’s Terms of Service?

In the event of a violation of the Terms of Service for a LE product purchase, sale, or VCOIN purchase, IMVU reserves the right to take any necessary action, including but not limited to removing the LE product, refunding a LE product, and reversing LE product transactions or payouts.

If a DMCA claim is filed against a LE product on IMVU or if it is rerated as Unfit for IMVU, the LE product and all related LE products will be put on hold until the issue is resolved.
