Starting January 30, 2026, IMVU will be removing the blockchain component from NFTs and rebranding all existing NFTs as Limited Edition (LE) products. With this change, these items will no longer exist on the blockchain and will instead be fully supported as Limited Edition digital products within the IMVU platform.

Over time, we’ve heard consistent feedback that cryptocurrency and blockchain concepts created confusion and barriers for many Creators and users, which limited broader adoption. This update allows us to simplify the experience while preserving what matters most: transferability, rarity, exclusivity, and usability. By moving away from blockchain-backed NFTs, we can better support Creators and users with a clearer, more accessible system that is fully integrated into IMVU.

There may be a brief period of disruption during this transition, but a new version of the app is expected mid-February. Until this update, Limited Edition products will be labeled as NFTs. As always, we recommend using the newest version of the app.

What this change means:

  • All existing NFTs will become Limited Edition products

  • These items will no longer be associated with blockchain technology

  • New Limited Edition products can be created through IMVU Studio

What stays the same:

  • You will still be able to view and wear your items as usual

  • Limited Edition products can be purchased, sold, and resold on IMVU using VCOIN

  • Item rarity/quantity, and exclusivity will be preserved

  • VCOIN buying, gifting, converting, and withdrawing will remain available

By simplifying this system, we aim to create a more intuitive experience for Creators and users while continuing to support exclusive digital content in a way that aligns with how our community uses IMVU.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
