I didn't like how we needed to pull out our wallets to complete this quest, especially if we already have plenty of credits. I do appreciate how the sale was about 50% off at least, that's pretty cool. I just hope that if someone needed to buy credits in order to complete the 2 purchase parts before (gifting wishlist items and buying items for yourself), that they wouldn't have to buy credits again to complete this.
Would have been cooler to make this a 10$ min purchase of anything in imvu's shop, instead of specifically credits (20k for 10.99$). And not just a purchase for ourselves, but gifting to someone also.

It's true, a lot of new creators can't sustain their shops when what they're making is not on high demand by a lot of customers. The creators who are doing well are the ones who have done their research and that was really smart of them, business wise. The other creators who didn't do their research and just gained a lot of sales on items they made with random inspiration... that was pure luck, which is how I feel most of the original sales was based off of. Luck is great but it's not a good strategy to rely on when our goal is to achieve mass sales. Luck runs out when we're competing with people who actually took a look at the market and community to understand what many people appreciate and bring it to them.

it's an interesting idea because there's a lot of people out there who are actually willing to pay that kind of money for semi-exclusive items... but it's gotta hit. One thing that saddens me is that many creators don't want to participate in these imvu product giveaways...
My Response:
You Seem To Be Confusing Something Here...
1. There Are Quite A Few People Out There Who Would Pay For Exclusives, Right??
2. But It's Gotta Stick, Right??
3. It Saddens You That Most Creators Don't Want To Participate??
Gee, I Am Curious Why...
Yes, I Would Want Exclusive Items, Too...
I Don't Spend On Shop-A-Holic Styled Things, Though, & I Especially Don't Spend Tons For Something So Tiny, Even More So, I Don't Spend A Penny On A Faulty Bad Service...
You Yourself Said, But It's Gotta Stick, Which I Labled As Number 2., You See, If You Want People To Buy Exclusive Items, They Need To Be Of Some Kind Of Value, Or Valuable To The People Who Want Them...
In The Case Of IMVU, You Have Creators Walking Out, & Leaving The Platform, You Have Angry Customers Not Happy With The Same Platform...
Then You Want People To Pay Tons For A Tiny Little Object...
Something To Me, Just Tells Me The Object Isn't Exactly All That Valuable To Start With...
There Isn't Enough Of A Reason On A Collapsing Service Like IMVU That Can Convince People To Actually Spend On Here To Get Anything Right Now, Lone Enough An Exclusive Item They Don't Have...
What I Am Saying Is??
This Event Is Not Like The Fall Room With Falling Leaves That Was Exclusive To VIP Owners A While Ago, Which Most Can't Get Anymore Without A Million Credit Purchase...
This Event Is Not Like The Pent House Which Only The People Who Originally Were Here In Early IMVU Days Can Actually Own... I'm Referring To The Pent House With A Pool, & The Bedroom Attachments Included...
This Event Is Just For A Snowman Pet Like Object, & Unlike The Penthouse & The Autum House Rooms, The Snowman Pet Isn't Exactly As Exclusive & As Valuable As Many People Are Led To Believe...
I Think Many People Are Looking At That, & Actually Weren't Convinced By The Value Of It Just Being Something They Needed...
------------------------------------------------
Now That We Got That All Cleared Up??
I Agree With You That We Can Rely On Shops, & Items We Sell To Get People To Buy From Them In Order For Us To Have Free Access To Stuff Like This...
However, If Stuff Like This Isn't Getting Anyone's Attention, Then What Does That Say About Our Own Shops, If They Aren't Interested In The Exclusive Items, What Do People Think Of The Value In Our Shops?
If We Keep Forting Stuff Into A Shop, & We Are Losing Customers, & They Are Showing Up Less, & Less, How Is This Helping Us To Keep Running A Shop On IMVU, If We Can't Afford To Keep The Shops Open??
The Shops Would Be Losing Out, Because Your Money Is Dropping, Which Is An Incentive To Change The Content In Your Shop, Or Change The Quality Of Them...
The Shop May Not Be The Issue, The Issue May Be In Our Ability To Still Fort A New Product To The Shop If We Loose Too Much Currency...
The Most Important Part Is This:
Creators, Not Just Users Have Been Leaving, If Creators Are Leaving, & New Creators Can't Sustain Affordability To Keep Creators Alive, Then I Fail To See How This Ends In A Good Way That Results In Some Form Of Profit Here At All??
I Was Hoping That My Own Shop Would Survive On Just Customers Who Can Keep It A Float, While I Cut Back On Spending For Credits Here, & I Can Generate A Self Sufficient System...
But With The Way People Are Reacting, & The Way Creators Are Not Energized To Wanna Stay Long Enough To Keep Going...
I'm Just Very Uncertain What To Do Now, ~__~
My Shop Is Just Sitting Here With A Catalog Waiting To Be Filled, & I Have Products Waiting To Fill The Catalog, Yet I There Are Many Problems On The Platform That Is Driving Me To Not Wanna Publish My Products At All...
I Don't Know How Many People Who Create For IMVU That Feel The Same Way As I Do, But I Am Not Jumping To Be In A Hurry For That Next Product To Develop, It's Not Like It Used To Be Before, Where People Had A Lot Of Energy, & They Wanted To Get The New Interesting Product Out, & They Wanted To Apply Some Magic To Their Shops In Order To Bring People Some Joy...
Today, The Magic Touch Is Burning Out, & There Is No Joy In What People Are Investing Their Time With Anymore...
& The More People See This, The More Troubling This Gets, We Just Had The IMVU Staff Shut Down Their Phone Lines, & IMVU Support Is Not Thrilled To Help People At All, Instead, They Are Somewhat Bitter Against People...
Many Of These Things Don't Look Good On An Environment Where People Spend Money On, & When You Have The Very People Keeping The Economy Alive Actually Leave??
This Sparks Worry Among The Buyers, So They Spend Less, & Not More... Which Makes Shop-A-Holic-Athon Spending Feel Sooo Un-Rewarding... ~__~
If People Who Are Shoppers & Spend A Lot Are Worried About This, Then Regular Casual Buyers Are Even Less Interested As Well...
Maybe It's Just Me, But That's How I Looked At It Myself...
This Is Why I Always Thought, Those Who Spend On Loyalty, & Spend With An Addiction, Even They Have Limits That They Won't Cross... & Even They Eventually Will See The Addiction...
Which Is Why I Always Thought It Was Foolish To Push That Kind Of Market From The Start, I Just Don't See How It Can Be A Sustainable Market That Would Last, & Most Of Them Who Wake Up End Up Realizing They Didn't Really Reach A High Point That Is Better Then Non-Aholic Spenders Were...
That's Just Me, Though...
Good Luck!

@YutakaSuzuki well since it's the holidays, folks are gonna wanna get cr anyways to do some shopping, so having a quest built around that sort of feels like an extra reward. Just not for me, since I'm already earning all the cr I could ever need from my own shop, so it's basically asking me to spend 10$ for a custom snowman pet, which isn't something I'd consider.
When I think about it, it's an interesting idea because there's a lot of people out there who are actually willing to pay that kind of money for semi-exclusive items... but it's gotta hit. One thing that saddens me is that many creators don't want to participate in these imvu product giveaways because they're afraid of receiving criticism for their work, since not everyone has the same taste and won't always like it.
It's still an interesting concept though. I feel that if staff did more research in our community and see how creators generate excitement with selling their hottest semi-exclusive products that actually were designed to appease the demand, staff could help guide other creators to be more successful than they already became on their own.
I know creating is about making what you love, but if a creators goal is to sell it to many people to gain the highest amount of profits for themselves... then market research on what the population likes is a necessary skill.

I Actually Thought They Were Joking, Because The Amount You Spend Actually Ends Up Being More Then What You Gain In Response As Your Reward...
Which Made It Sound Like A Giant Scam, & The Fact That The Event Was Called Spend-A-Holic Or Shop-A-Holic...
Pretty Much Sums Up What That Event Was For, ~__~
It Proves Their Hurting For Money, & They Want Users To Pay Them For All The Damages They Keep Doing, So They Keep Their Pockets Full, ~__~
