STEP 4:
To select a tool, click on its corresponding icon in the Furniture Tools widget, and then hover your mouse near the base of the furniture or item that you want to edit. The selected tool is highlighted in yellow.

Below are the different tools in the Furniture Tools widget including their functions. Understanding each tool will turn room customization into a breeze!

Explore (hotkey: ctrl + E)

This deactivates any selected tool and allows you to move around the room.

The Move Tool (hotkey: ctrl + M)

This allows you to move furniture around a room. Select this tool and click-drag a furniture item to move it. The yellow dots you see while dragging are Nodes or Anchors where you can place a furniture. To move away from these nodes(i.e., you want to move the furniture to an exact place in your room where there is no anchor) you may “offset” the furniture. Holding the Ctrl button while this tool is active will allow you to finetune the horizontal position of your item, while holding Shift will allow you to adjust its vertical position (you could actually make your furniture “float”!).

The Rotate Tool (hotkey: ctrl + R)

Select this tool and click-drag on a piece of a furniture to rotate the item. When rotating a furniture item, it will snap at 90 degrees. This is helpful if you want to keep items square in your room. This is helpful if you want to keep items square in your room. Holding the Shift button while the rotate tool is active will allow you to adjust the item’s pitch, while holding Ctrl will allow you to adjust the roll.

The Scale Tool (hotkey: ctrl + S)

Select this tool and click-drag on a furniture item to make it bigger or smaller. Drag downwards to enlarge the item, and upwards to shrink it. You will see the “min” & “max” warning icons at the upper and lower limits of scaling.

The Copy Tool (hotkey: ctrl + Y)

Select this tool and click on a furniture item to make a copy of it nearby.

The Reset Tool (hotkey: ctrl + U)

Use this tool to reset a furniture item's scale, rotation, and offset.

The Lock Tool (hotkey: ctrl + L)

Use this tool to lock an item. When an item is locked, all of the other furniture tools cannot be used on that product. Use the

Lock Tool again to unlock a furniture. This is useful to avoid making any unwanted changes.

The Delete Tool (hotkey: ctrl + D)

Select this tool and click on a furniture item to delete it from your room. Deleted furniture items are removed from your room, but are still in your Inventory and can be used again.

The Undo Tool (hotkey: ctrl + O)

Select this tool and click on an item to redo the last change that was undone.

STEP 5: To exit the edit mode, click the hammer icon (or Ctrl + F) again to close the Furniture Tools widget.
