Pulse was basically IMVU’s version of Twitter (X.com)
It was the best place for short text posts, quick thoughts, status updates, all in a simple scrolling feed. It was also really cool for creators to promote their stuff.
This game has become way too cliquey. Everyone is either parked, rude, gifting for likes, or a bot. People don’t actually want to meet new people, or show off their personality!
I feel like the app is missing that casual space now. The feed is very visual and chat is 1 to 1 or in rooms, but there is no in between where you can just, post a quick text status (I’m not ruining my feed with text lol), ask questions or talk to randoms, share what you are doing in VU without needing a pic.
I personally use client and Pulse is not used at all or is filled with creators spam. I would love to see Pulse brought back, or even relaunched on client and as a separate “text” or “pulse” tab on mobile.
That would 100% elevate the app.

One thing I loved about pulse is that we could write a lot more than a Feed post allows us to, like FaceBook. But one thing I didn't like about pulse was that we couldn't include pictures, only links.
I like how Feed does allow us to select a filter for text or pic only at least.
Another thing I love about Feed is that we don't have to enlarge the post to ♥ it, we can just click it a certain way and it's a lot easier to hit like on multiple posts! That's something Instagram doesn't have.
As for this place becoming the way described... I honestly feel that's the way this new generation of people are and imvu has been accommodating that because that's the way the new majority has evolved to. I personally don't really like it because it also means attention spans are shorter and details are less appreciated, but I know I have to adapt. I'd still like ways for more people to enjoy without sacrificing something.
But I do agree that I don't really like posting texts to my own Feed because it doesn't look nice on my profile. I much prefer to use it for photos. If I could have a separate tab to display texts, that would be much more comfortable! I personally miss having photo albums from the classic client, it was a great way to organize and split things up instead of having them all jumbled together in Feed currently. Especially since classic client's albums also had friends only display, AP needed because I'm sure we have friends that worry if we're using our albums to show to people we shouldn't and would flag it out of concern.
I have a lot of memories in my photos that get lost in Feed and Instagram. It's not great for holding onto the amount of effort and emotion we invested in that moment. Gone :( Lost in time of endless scrolling needed to find it and not even have energy to re-enjoy it again by that time.
If we could add a Text insert to the photo tabs, that would be great!
Scribble is hard to control and many of us try to use it to write words anyways, so text just makes sense. Not the same as the Text feed feature, since it's a pre-selected background, not our own photos.
