So I'm sure some of you have seen me complaining in the suggestions forum and now in the bug forum about the idea that it just felt like you could not set yourself as offline and appear as offline to everyone. That I would perhaps be logged in on classic, and maybe also logged in on the mobile app and on the website, not using them all at the same time, but even if I'm set at do not disturb and turned my light off let's say on the website, I still appeared as online to people.
I'm apparently not the only one that's had this complaint. I had read online how their systems cannot communicate well with each other, so I decided to try an experiment tonight.
I logged out of the mobile app, as well as the website on my laptop, and even the website on my phone. I had it that I was not logged into anything IMVU other than classic. I set myself at do not disturb.
I actually had a very quiet evening. I don't know if it's just people were not around, or if I actually finally appeared as offline. I even logged into the mobile app and the website using an alternate account I have, checking my inbox where I have a message from my primary account, and even my friends list and followers lists, and I didn't see my primary account as online at any time.
I might try again tomorrow night using only Desktop and again not logged into anything else, including classic. I'm just getting the vibe that the current system cannot handle when you are logged in to multiple IMVU properties and therefore they are all communicating their own messages and confusing the system.
I don't know if this is the solution, or even a temporary solution, but it's worth looking into. At least we the users now know what the problem is and perhaps have a way around it. I'll try to come back here and post more findings when I try things again.

Wait, Soooo...
How Is This Helpful??
This Means Even If You Only Use Classic, If I'm Stuck On Next, Then We Can't Communicate With Each Other At All, Right??
Or You Saying We Can't Be On Multiple Platforms At The Same Time With The Same Account On The Same PC??
Like I'm Not Sure What You Mean??

Ummmm...
The IMVU Staff Has Been Trying For A While Now To Try & Make IMVU Work Universally Like A Single 1 Platform & More Like The Mobile APP, However Many People Just Want The Classic Client, & Those Who Do Use The Phone, All Say They Also Have Problems, Too...
So I Have No Idea What The Problem Is With The Staff...
But I Personally Am Not In Favor Of These Changes, I Can't Run IMVU Next Anymore, The Classic Got Ruined For No Reason When It Was Already Working Fine, & Now The Mobile Version Is Having Problems, Too...
That's Some Communication Problem, ~__~
My Issue Is IMVU Next Will Not Let Me Move Anywhere In The Rooms I Own & Spend Time In...
& This Was After The Room Shelf Changes On The IMVU Platform Took Place...
I'm Not Sure If This Is A Communication Thing, Or Something Else Fishy Is Going On, But Anyone Got Ideas How To Fix These Things??
I'm Open To Ideas, Cause I'm Not Complaining To The Staff In Support Tickets On Them, Clearly The Support Tickets Are Useless In 2025...

So apparently there is no way to escape the mobile app in terms of privacy.
Light off on Desktop, nothing else logged in....you show up as "Online" when someone looks at who is online in their friends list.
DND on Classic, nothing else logged in....same story.
No privacy at all. I can see why I have a few people who only do followers and no friends.

Well scratch this big idea. I did it again last night. Was only on classic and logged out of everything else, and people on the mobile app still saw me as online.

They really need to fix this.
